Carl Slade

From 1989 to 2010, Carl was the Co-CEO of Geoventures, a mining exploration and development company he co-founded with Larry Neuhoff, which was involved in numerous projects. Geoventures discovered Vele, a coal deposit that was developed into a mine and sold to Coal of Africa and that became that company's flagship project. Before that Carl was Exploration Manager for Latin America for Goldfields in Brazil for 8 years. He established and managed several large exploration projects in South Africa, Angola, Botswana and Brazil over the past 40 years. In base metals, the Messina copper mine (South Africa), evaluation drilling at Jacomynspan Nickel (South Africa), management of the Brumado tin project (Brazil) and the establishment of the Vanrooysvlei Tungsten project (South Africa). In gold, he conceptualized and established the Witwatersrand gold project for Rand Extensions, which led to the listing of Potchefstroom Gold and Lydenburg Exploration on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
